The Estuary Biome:
The basic definition of the estuary biome is a partially enclosed body of water that forms where freshwater (from rivers & streams) flow into the ocean, where the types of water mix. Estuaries tend to be an area of transition, from freshwater, transitioning to saltwater. These estuaries are effected by tides, but are protected from things like powerful ocean waves, winds, and storms. Estuaries can be called many different names, some of them being bays, lagoons, harbors, inlets, or sounds.
